Last night I found myself out on my back patio at close to midnight, as Snowmageddon 2010 (heh, I love saying that) continued. The snowing had started a little while before and everything looked absolutely beautiful, so off I went with my camera and tripod – and umbrella.
The night was still and perfectly peaceful. No other sounds except the wet snow falling on my umbrella and the occasional clicks from my camera. I took some inspiration from the Snowstorm Digout tumblr my friend and fellow photographer David Mielcarek has started. A fantastic photographer named Todd Laffler posted some studies from his backyard back in December and I had those in mind as I looked for things to shoot.
I don’t think I got close to some of the cool photographs he has, but here are my impressions!
Bad hair day!
Here’s an almost-full shot of my patio.
Holiday card!
Till next time! :)

Whoa…that’s a lot of snow! You’ve got great lines in these photos…
Thanks, Sabrina! Yup, lots of snow, and it’s still going!
Great shots Preeti! Next time I should use an umbrella. Nice blog btw.
Thanks for stopping by, Mary! Using the umbrella was a bit unwieldy but worth it to keep the camera dry and get some cool shots!
