Today, we are visiting Kerala, a state in southwest India, called “God’s own country” – because it is lush, beautiful, and full of vibrant life. Specifically, we will be stopping by Lemon Tree Resort, on the shores of Lake Vembanad.
We stayed at this resort for just one night, during our mini-vacation to Kerala in the middle of our vacation to India. For those with family in India, you know that a vacation to India needs its own vacation! The resort was absolutely beautiful and quite peaceful. Apparently we were there just as tourist season was beginning so there were very few people staying there. The service was superb, the food was fantastic, and the prices were more than reasonable. I highly recommend this resort if you are ever in the area!
I have a ton of photos from my DSLR, as you can imagine, but seeing as how I still haven’t posted photos from a vacation in May of last year, I’m going to ease my way into posting, starting off with my iPhone shots. I used the Pro HDR app a lot during this trip – it was invaluable for me. Definitely recommend this app as well. I also used ShakeItPhoto here and there.
The view from our room
They upgraded us to a suite (for free!) and it had windows along 3 walls!
One of the corridors – all the rooms opened to the outside
All the way at the end is the entrance to the hotel and the (outdoor) lobby
They change the flowers and design every day – so awesome!
Looking down towards the lobby
I made him sit still so I could do an HDR shot
View of the lake from the restaurant
The restaurant was indoors and outdoors, but it was too hot to eat outside
I loved the lemon and freshness theme of everything, from the straws to the shampoos…
…to the sugar packets!
Freshly squeezed pineapple juice! I had it every chance I could get.
Morning on the lake… Alas, no fabulous sunrise. It was cloudy for most of our trip. :/
Morning coffee! Another one I made him sit still for. Oh, the things he has to put up with! :D
Next up, Kerala from a houseboat!
